Session-based diagnostic protocol used by manufacturers for enhanced data. Service 0x22 (ReadDataByIdentifier) is the usual way to request a DID. This is not J1979 Mode 01, and it is not the same thing as SAE J2190 Mode 0x22 even though the hex number matches.
Scope. Manufacturer-enhanced data: hybrid pack SOC/voltage, DID ranges, security sessions.
ISO 14229-1 defines services. Identifiers themselves are mostly manufacturer-assigned. Never merge a UDS DID with a J1979 PID just because the number looks similar.
